Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold said today that from a short-term viewpoint there had been “definite improvement” in the Arab-Israel situation in the past two weeks. But he warned his press conference the deterioration he had reported two weeks ago so far as the basic situation was concerned remained unchanged.
