United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold will meet Saturday morning with Joseph Tekoah, Israel’s permanent representative at the United Nations, to discuss the results of his talk in Cairo on unhampered passage of Israeli ships and cargoes through the Suez Canal, it was learned here today.
Mr. Hammarskjold met yesterday with the permanent UN representative of the United Arab Republic with whom he discussed the same subject. It was understood that the UN Secretary General is now in touch with the UAR on this matter. This explains why he put forward his meeting with Mr. Tekoah for Saturday, when he may be in a position to discuss with him the Suez issue in the light of his continued negotiations with Cairo.
