A Jewish pogrom in Harbin, Manchuria, is feared in connection with Russian White Guard demonstrations against the Soviet management of the Chinese Eastern Railroad. Reports wired from Harbin to Moscow tell of several hundred ex-Czarists who were discharged from the railroad’s employ, attacking the Soviet offices, holding mass meetings, proclaiming anti-Semitic slogans, and calling for a pogrom.

The reports add that the Jewish population is in a panic because the White Guards are meeting with no opposition from the local authorities.
