The secret police today surrounded and searched the Great Synagogue here, after allegations had been made by Russian White Guardists that “suspicious materials” were concealed in the Jewish house of prayer.
Following a thorough investigation, the police reported that nothing had been found.
The incident has evoked much resentment on the part of Jewish leaders.
