Harry V. Meissner, local attorney and vice-president of Temple Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun, has been elected president of teh Milwaukee school board. Mr. Meissner, who has been a member of the board since 1925, has been a director of the Federated Jewish Charities, an officer of the county Red Cross and active in other civic movements.
Mr. Meissner is to rule over a board divided between seven non-partisans and seven Socialists. Possessing the strategic vote, Mr. Meissner has announced he will disregard political distinctions and vote for the general good of the school system.
