A pilot study to determine whether there are differences in the incidence of heart disease as between Americans who have emigrated to Israel and their brothers and sisters living in the United States has been inaugurated at the Harvard School of Public Health, it was announced here today.

The study, being conducted by Dr. Ascher J. Segall, will try to determine whether differences in modes of life in the U. S. A. and in Israel, including nutrition and occupation, may be associated with differences between siblings in the risk of developing heart disease. The school’s department of epidemiology has requested that Americans who have brothers or sisters who have migrated to Israel contact the department to cooperate in the initial phases of the study.
