Harvard to Boycott Olympics Unless Persecutions Stop

Harvard College will not send representatives to the Olympic Games in Berlin if the German government attempts to bar Jews from the games, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was told today by William J. Bingham, director of athletics at Harvard.

Mr. Bingham, who is a member of the American Olympics Committee, also stated that Harvard will not make its usual contribution of $1,000. to the general Olympic fund if the persecutions persist.

Although Harvard does not directly enter contestants in the Olympic games, athletes under its colors are entered in the competitions in this country from which are selected the members of the American Olympic Team.

Harvard will not allow its athletes to enter these competitions under Harvard colors, Mr. Bingham stated.
