Harvey Goodman of New York, national director of the American Zionist Fund, the fund-raising arm of the Zionist Organization of America, died suddenly late last night while addressing a meeting of the organization.
Born in New York 54 years ago, Mr. Goodman served in the United States Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He graduated from New York University in 1936 and served as fund raiser on a national level in the United Jewish Appeal from 1947 until 1962. Thereafter he was director of fund-raising of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Friends of the Hebrew University and in 1964 he was associate director of institute resources at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, in which capacity he was in charge of all fund-raising activities and development programing of the organization. He was also active in civic, communal and Zionist affairs.
