An appeal to American and Canadian Jewish youth to come to Israel to settle was voiced here today at a convention of members of Hashomer Hatzair kibbutzim who originally came from the United States. The convention marked the 19th anniversary of the settlement in Israel of Hashomer Hatzair members from North America.
Richard Yaffe and Abraham Shenkar, American Hashomer Hatziar delegates to the recent World Zionist Congress, reported to the convention on organizational activities in the U.S. The convention decided to name a committee of North American settlers in Israel to advise Mapam central bodies on activities dealing with party education in the U.S.
