Henri Bergson, 75-year-old internationally known philosopher, issued a statement today to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, denying categorically that he has embraced Catholicism.
The denial was issued in view of a report in the Nazi press stating that Bergson had given up his Jewish religion. Prof. Bergson, who is a member of the French Academy of Science, is still teaching in the College de France, despite his advanced age.
