Two local synagogues were burglarized and one of them was desecrated, it was reported here today by police authorities, who pledged that they were hunting for the criminals.
At the Hassidic Synagogue, the sanctuary was desecrated. At the same time, a safe containing the congregation’s archives was broken open, and the record books were stolen along with linens, crockery and other items. At the Yeoville Synagogue, cupboards were broken open, the contents stolen, as well as some petty cash kept on the premises.
