Shemaya Demayo, president of the Sephardic Jewish Community of Belgrade, died today at the age of fifty-five.
Mr. Demayo was a member of Parliament and was regarded as the most popular representative of the Jewish Community. His services were recognized by the King and he received the King’s Democrations of the White Eagle and the Jugo-Slavian Crown, as well as a number of Hero’s orders.
