Joachimel Anthony, head of the Coptic Church, who yesterday was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment following his conviction on espionage charges, filed an appeal today.

The brief submitted by his counsel stated, among other things, that he was found guilty of transporting across the demarcation lines three Israel Government Yearbooks which prosecution witnesses testified contained important information.
