General Sir Edward Bethune, head of the Order of Crusaders which is being attacked in the press as the English counterpart of the Ku Klux Klan, denied in an article he contributed to the SUNDAY EXPERSS that the Order contemplates any violations through its program of political and other activities. The aim of the Order, the General declares, is to perpetuate the comradeship established in the trenches. There are no class distinctions among the Crusaders and it is for that reason that robes which may perhaps resemble those of the American Ku Klux Klan are worn to cover the quality of clothes. General Bethune denies that the Crusaders are inimical to Jews but ventures the guess that professing Jews would probably not wish to join the Order whose badge is the Cross.
