F. Mezey, the newly elected president of the Juedische Landeskanzlei, died here today. Mr. Mezey was formerly secretary of the Landeskanzlei and was for many years one of the most active members of the Jewish community in Hungary.
The Landeskanzlei is composed of the so-called Neolog part of the Hungarian Jewish community. While they are distinct from the Orthodox Jewish community, they are conservative as compared with the Reform Jewish communities in Germany and the United States.
