Heading the list of successful Jewish candidates in New Jersey is Congress Isaac Bacharach (R) of Atlantic City who will return to Washington for his tenth consecutive term. In Union City, the youthful Irving Taft (R), was defeated, as was Harry Joelson (D) in Passaic.

For the legislature David M. Litwin (R) of Newark, Joseph Greenberg (D) of Jersey City, Frank Schoenfeld (D) of Jersey City, Joseph Altman (R) of Atlantic City and Benjamin Stein (R) of Paterson were reelected.
