According to persistent rumors Sir John Chancellor, High Commissioner of Palestine, will leave his office when his term expires in 1931. Other rumors have it that when Sir John was in London last summer arrangements were made for him to remain in office for another quinquenium when his term has expired in order that he continue the policy of the White Paper.
Dwelling upon this uncertainty concerning Sir John’s tenure of office, the Hebrew daily Haaretz states that the High Commissioner will leave in the middle of 1931.
