Heavy rains across the nation brought both benefit and trouble to Israelis in the last 24 hours. In the Negev yesterday’s downpour saved crops threatened by drought. In many other areas the rain was welcomed because irrigation had been started recently to save threatened crops.
But in Ashdod, the rains again brought hardship. The town was again cut off, except for one infantry bridge left from the last flood which isolated the town. At Nathanya and other townships minor damage was reported.
