The first winter rains averted danger today of the loss of most of Israel’s winter crops and ended near-drought conditions already existing in many parts of the country.
The heavy rains were described as just what the citrus crops needed after the prolonged, unseasonable heat. Picking of the orange crop gets into full swing this week.
