An attempt to strengthen the Hebraist movement in Eastern Europe will be made at a conference of Hebraists which will be held here on October 14. The conference will be presided over by Dr. Michelson.
Representatives of the Hebraist organization in Latvia. Lithuania, Esthonia and Poland will attend. It is planned to establish a permanent bureau for the spread of Hebrew culture in the Baltic countries. It is also hoped that this movement will serve as a basis for a Hebrew world conference to be held in Jerusalem.
A gift of four concerts by the New York Philharmonic Society in the Newark, N. J. public schools next spring as part of the regular school curiculum, has been made by Mrs. Felix Fuld. The concerts are of the same type of children’s concerts which have been presented at Aeolian Hall, New York. They will be directed by Ernest Schelling.
