The Hebrew newspapers “Davar” and “Hamashkif” have been suspended for one week by the Palestine Government, it was announced today.
“Davar” was suspended for publishing a cartoon which showed young children in hospital beds after the Tel Aviv rioting and a doctor represented as saying “what good snipers, they hit such small targets.” The other paper was suspended for publishing a report of an alleged statement by Doctor Arish Altmann, Revisionist leader, which declared “the political offensive of the Jewish people will destroy Britain’s policy of duplicity.” “Davar” stated tonight the cartoon had been submitted to censership.
