At impressive ceremonies and before a large crowd, 107 young men were graduated last night by the Hebrew Technical Institute. The commencement exercises were held in the large hall of Cooper Union, Eighth Street and Third Avenue.
Principal speaker at the function was Dr. K. George Falk, president of the institute. Dr. Edgar S. Barney, principal, awarded the diplomas. The invocation was given by Rabbi Louis I. Newman of Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
Twenty students were awarded prizes, nineteen of them in the graduating class and one in the middle class. Prize winners are: Marvin Jacobi, Nathan Grossner, Pincus Eis, Leo Cohen, David J. Forman, Irving M. Abramson, Jacob Solomon, Seymour Cohen, Philip Zelkowitz, Max Karpen, Joseph Bernstein, Charles Miller, Israel L. Scholnik, Irving Shulman, Werner F. Tietz, Jerome L. Grieff, Nathan Lawres, Carl Reinstein and Morris A. Solotoroff. Winner in the middle class was Seymour Goldberg.
