A Conference of Hebrew School Organizations, participated in by the most prominent communal workers, was held here yesterday. The Conference discussed the desperate situation of the Hebrew Schools in Poland of which there are 246 attended by 32,000 children. In addition to these there are 137 evening schools, 3 Teachers Seminaries and 114 libraries. Funds for the support of these institutions have been exhausted and despite the great sacrifices of Polish Jewry they are unable to maintain the schools themselves.
The Conference appealed to American Jews who are interested in national education, for aid.
