The Union of Hebrew teachers, representing 800 teachers in Hebrew Schools and yeshivoth, today advanced a demand for wage-minimum of $4,800 a year. The demand, announced at a press conference, is based on a Code of Practice for Jewish Schools approved by the Jewish Education Committee here. It was indicated that the Union will declare a strike if its request will not be granted by the school boards.
