A call for a general mass meeting of Hebrew teachers, to be held Tuesday evening at the Central Jewish Institute, 125 East Eighty-fifth street, was issued by the Central Committee of the Hebrew Teachers’ Union.
The meeting will be the first step in the process of organizing and uniting Hebrew teachers. The union claims that the situation existing in Hebrew schools is chaotic; that many of the teachers have not been paid for months, and that the very existence of the Hebrew Schools is endangered.
Among the groups who will attend are the Hebrew Teachers’ Union, the Union of Yeshiva Teachers, the Jewish Teachers’ Union and the Jewish Teachers’ Association.
