The Hebrew University has informed the Palestine Government that it is willing to cooperate in war tasks by offering the service of its academic staff and laboratories for whatever special work they could do to meet the needs of the hour. Despite the war, instruction and research are continuing at the university.

An emergency committee has been established under the presidency of Chief Rabbis Isaac Herzog and Ben-Zion Uziel, and Rabbi Meir Berlin, to aid Jewish theological institutions, which are in a desperate situation because they have been cut off from sources of financial assistance abroad as a result of the war.
