The Hebrew University will not accept this year the Italian Government’s annual $2,000 grant in view of anti-Jewish legislation in Italy, President Judah L. Magnes notified the Italian consulate today.

The decision was made by the university’s Board of Governors at its recent London meeting, Dr. Magnes said. He added that teaching of Italian literature would continue. The grant had been made by Rome since 1933 for the university’s department of romance language and Literature.
