Henry Monsky, Judge Joseph M. Proskauer, Rabbi Samuel Wohl of Cincinnati and Dr. Joshua Bloch, chief librarian of the Jewish division of the New York Public Library, will be awarded honorary degrees by the Hebrew Union College at its 64th commencement exercises tomorrow.
Rabbi Wohl’s degree will be conferred in absentia, since he is now in Argentina studying the Jewish situation there. Rabbi Wohl, who is a graduate of the Hebrew Union College, was awarded the degree for his services to the cause of Labor Zionism as well as for his “unsurpassed devotion to his alma mater and constant zeal for its upbuilding and progress, which, during the year just ending, contributed an immeasurable share to the dignified and effective celebration of its 70th anniversary and to the formulation and inauguration of the program for its foundation fund.”
