Ways and means of providing spiritual leaders to congregations as replacements for rabbis who are entering the armed forces as chaplains stands high on the agenda at meetings of all religious bodies, Lester A. Jaffe, chairman of the board of governors of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, declared here today.
The procurement of replacements to serve in American congregations will be one of the subjects to be discussed at the next meeting of the Board of the College-Institute in Cincinnati, Mr. Jaffe said. The Board will also hear the report of Dr. Nelson Glueck, president of the rabbinical school of Liberal Judaism, on program and perspectives for the coming year.
