The Hebrew University today established a James G. McDonald Chair in American History, honoring the first United States Ambassador to Israel. Funds for the chair included a gift of $150,000 from Benjamin Abrams of New York and a group of friends.
A Joseph Meyerhoff Chair for Special Education also has been endowed by a gift of $150,000, honoring the chairman of the United Jewish Appeal’s Israel Education Fund. The money was raised by Baltimore Friends of the Hebrew University. Mr. Meyerhoff contributed $50,000 to the fund.
