The Hebrew University is faced with a serious financial problem in view of the considerable reduction in American contributions, Norman Bentwich, former attorney general for Palestine, and professor of the Weizmann chair of international peace, declared at a meeting of the Jewish Club.
The American contribution in the past has been in the amount of £40,000 annually, Mr. Bentwich said. Since this sum has been considerably reduced, the University must look to other sources for its income.
