One hundred and five Jewish refugees yesterday revisited Hebron, some for the first time since the massacre. They were accompanied by two British soldiers, a representative of the collective punishments office and of the Zionist Legal Aid Committee. Fifty sacks packed with the looted belongings of the survivors filled two store rooms in the police station. All of the loot was recovered in Hebron and in six of the surrounding villages, a fact which apparently gives the lie to the allegation that the Bedouins and not Hebronites did the massacring and looting.

Many of the visitors recognized belongings of murdered relatives, an identification which caused the air to be rent with sobs all day long. The most valuable articles are still missing, although one Jew who casually visited his former Arab neighbor saw some of his goods in possession of the Arab. Burned and torn papers and books, and broken bottles littered the floor of the Hadassah Clinic.
