Miss Henriette Strauss, a pioneer in the fight for woman suffrage in the United States, died on Sunday in New York, after an illness of six months. Miss Strauss was also a founder, and the president, of the Women’s Thirteen Club, an organization designed to combat ignorant racial teachings and superstitions.
In memory of her father, the late Captain James Strauss, a Civil War veteran, Miss Strauss founded the New York Chapter of the Daughters of the Union.
