President Coolidge received Henryk Glicenstein, noted Jewish sculptor of Italy, at the White House yesterday.
The President expressed great interest in the exhibition of Glicenstein’s works at the Anderson Galleries in New York and inquired whether the sculptor would also hold an exhibition in Washington, indicating his intention of attending such an exhibition.
Mr. Glicenstein was introduced to the President by Jan Ciechanowski, Polish Minister to the United States, who later entertained the sculptor.
The Building Fund Committee of the Jewish Center of East Flatbush announced through Samuel Shulman donations amounting to $25,000 toward the erection of its new synagogue and center, at its first campaign dinner, held Thursday night. A sum of $300,000 is sought.
The Center proposes to erect on their present site, two buildings: a recreation and study hall and a synagogue.
