An important book collection is bequeathed to the library of the University in Jerusalem in the will of the late Herbert Bentwich.
Mr. Bentwich, who died at the age of seventy-six in June, was the father of Norman Bentwich, former attorney-general for Palestine, and was himself a veteran Zionist.
In his will Mr. Bentwich expressed the earnest wish that his children would not marry out of the Jewish faith “whereas the times are out of joint and there is general unsettlement in people’s minds.”
He also left an ethical will, in accordance with the ancient Jewish custom, for the guidance of his children.
