Funeral services were held today for Herbert B. Sussman, a Jewish communal leader, who died here Tuesday at the age of 78. Mr. Sussman was founder and president of the United Galician Jews of America, chairman of the Landsmanschaft division of the United Jewish Appeal and a member of the executive committee of ORT. In 1946, Mr. Sussman headed a commission investigating conditions among Jewish survivors in Poland and helped establish relief program there.
