Herr Jessner, theatrical producer, dismissed from his post as director of the Prussian State Theatres because he is Jewish, has been denied permission by the home office to produce “Danse Macabre” at the “Q” Theatre, according to the dramatic critic of the Daily Mail.
Jack de Leon, proprietor of the “Q” Theatre, asked Jessner to direct the rehearsals of the play which deals with the spy Mata Hari and is set in surroundings with which the German exile is familiar.
