The Herut wing of Likud has laid claim to the eastern bank of the Jordan River as well as the West Bank.
Herut’s platform committee, headed by Knesset member Dov Shilansky, revised a clause in the party’s election platform Sunday that expresses the Jewish people’s right to “Eretz Yisrael” (Land of Israel).
The platform now reads: “The Jewish people has an everlasting and indisputable right to the entirety of Eretz Yisrael, meaning both banks of the Jordan River.” The platform committee also demanded that Likud work toward the immediate application of Israeli law to the administered territories, which would be tantamount to their annexation.
