More than 700 congregations throughout the country representing all branches of Judaism observed Herzi Centennial Sabbath yesterday. commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Theodor Herzi, founder of Zionism.

The observances were marked by sermons and special programs devoted to the life and works of Dr. Herzi. In their sermons the rabbis emphasized the importance of strengthening the Zionist movement today as a bulwark against the inroads of #### as a major instrumentality for safeguarding the security of the State of Israel.
