Dr. Salo W. Baron, the noted Jewish historian, was honored here tonight at a special convocation of the Theodor Herzl Institute by Dr. Emanuel Neumann, chairman of the Herzl Foundation and a group of fellow scholars including Dr. Solomon Grayzel, editor of the Jewish Publications Society.
Dr. Neumann paid tribute to Dr. Baron who retired last June as Professor of Jewish History at Columbia University, as a man who “personifies one of the finest and noblest of Jewish traditions: dedication to learning and the sanctification of Jewish studies.”
