Hezbollah would be boosted if Syria ends its occupation of Lebanon, Israel’s national security adviser warned. “Israel has no real interest in a Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon. Such a move is liable to undermine stability in Lebanon, remove the restraints from Hezbollah and heat up the Golan front,” Giora Eiland said in a report leaked to Army Radio on Wednesday.
