Representatives of hi-tech industries in Israel met here Sunday with more than 900 Israelis who live in the New York area and potential American olim in a special “face-to-face” campaign offering them jobs in Israel.
According to Consul Amos Haddad, head of the delegation of Israel’s Ministry of Labor in the U.S., the hi-tech representatives are seeking about 600 professional Israelis and potential olim to work in Israel’s expanding science, engineering and computer industries.
Haddad, who organized and sponsored the meeting at the Hilton Hotel, said that hundreds of candidates were interviewed Sunday. “At the end of the day, 21 contracts were signed,” he said. He added that some of the persons who signed the contracts are leaving lucrative jobs in America. “They want to go home to Israel, and that’s the most important thing for them, ” Haddad said.
