The Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, through the Hicem, Hias, Ica, and Emigdirekt, has appropriated $6,000 for the year 1929 for Jewish immigrant aid in Canada, the New York office announced. The request came from the Canadian Jewish Immigrant Aid Society which has now become affiliated with the international organization, Hicem.
A group of six Chalutzim, Palestine pioneers, in Poland who graduated from the agricultural classes conducted by Hias for immigrants, have left for Palestine. Arrangements for passports and visas were made by the Hias office in Warsaw for the group.
