A group of forty Jewish artisans from Latvia and Lithuania left here yesterday for South America.
The departure of the group was witnessed by Abraham Hermann, president of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid and Sheltering Society of America, who is now touring Europe in the interests of the society which is aiding the emigrants.
The group which consists mainly of skilled workers is accompanied by an official of the Hicem, the organization created by the Hias, Ica and Emigidirekt to assist East European Jewish emigrants with necessary information and training.
