Ilya Dijour, executive secretary of the Hias-Ica Emigration Association, left today for Europe where he will help to facilitate the emigration of displaced Jews in the American zones in Germany and Austria. He will be working under the supervision of the UNRRA and in cooperation with American military authorities.
Prior to leaving, Mr. Dijur conferred with military officials and with UNRRA executives in Washington. He believes that about 10,000 displaced Jews can secure visas for various countries on the American continent, including the United States, under the existing quota regulations, providing that the proper affidavits are arranged for them by relatives in those countries.
