Abraham Herman, president of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, yesterday issued a call to leaders of all congregations in the United States to make an appeal for contributions on one day during the coming High Holy Days. The funds collected will be used by HIAS for directing the emigration and immigration problems of Jews all over the world.
