The British Foreign Office announced today that George Thomson, Minister of State in the Foreign Office, will visit Israel October 13-17, as part of his tour of the Middle East.
The British diplomat, who has visited Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iran, will leave on September 24 for Cairo, where he will meet with President Nasser, Then he is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia. Prior to departing for Cairo, Mr. Thomson will meet with Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, during her stop-over in London en route to the United States for the 20th General Assembly of the United Nations. She will meet also with other members of the British Government.
