Israel’s exports of fresh citrus fruit during the coming season starting in October will total an estimated 13-14,000,000 cases, according to a forecast released here today by the Citrus Marketing Board.
The higher figure would represent an increase of 2,500,000 cases over last season when the country’s citrus groves were badly hit by frost, and of 1,500,000 cases over the 1962-63 total.
In view of the larger quantity of exports predicted, it is intended to stop up shipments to Britain, West Germany and France. It is also hoped to ship larger quantities to East European countries and to the relatively new outlets such as in the Far East, Canada, the United States and Africa.
