The Hilfsverein der Deutschen Juden, German-Jewish welfare organization, today changed its name to Hilfsverein der Juden in Deutschland, thus shifting the emphasis from “German Jews” to “Jews in Germany,” in accordance with the order of the Nazi authorities who do not wish the Jews to identify themselves as Germans.
