In an effort to recruit additional young people to the Jewish teaching profession, a special program has been instituted on the College Park campus of the University of Maryland. The program is designed to enable students to be trained for teaching in Jewish schools while they are pursuing their regular college studies.
Sponsored by the Board of Jewish Education of Greater Washington, the Jewish Teachers Institute, College Park Division, holds Its “on campus” classes at the B’nai B’rith Hillel House. The institute’s teacher training program leads to teaching certification, by the Board, for the non-Hebraic subjects of the Jewish school. Registration for College Park program is now underway.
